A small card. A simple act. A real way to help.
The You Matter Card is a small, double-sided card that contains crisis, harm reduction supplies, peer support, and basic health services.
Why I Made This Card
My name is André. I used to work in IT for the BC government. After experiencing an untreated mental illness, I left my job and began traveling. Over time, I fell into debt, my mental health declined, and I eventually became homeless.
I created the You Matter Card in memory of my sister Eugenie, who died from alcohol use disorder. I can’t speak to everything she was going through, but I know she struggled deeply. This card is for her, for others like her, and for anyone trying to help someone else with compassion—even when they’re not sure how.
